When I was little, I read catalogs in the bathroom to my classroom of imaginary friends. Even if it was a telephone bill they would always find it very interesting, and Chelsea was the smartest student.

When I was little, I used to build forts in my room, and when it was night time I would gather all of my stuffed animals and action figures and give them a prep talk, or advice, or warn them of whether we were going to have a battle or drama the next day.

I used to think that all squirrels worked for mother nature and planted tree seeds everywhere she needed them. I now know they are just stupid rodents.

When I was little, my sister and I used to sit in the back seat of the family minivan and shoot at the cars behind us. They were “bad people” coming to get us.

When I was a kid I used to think that cars were real people and I would always hide from them. Now, when I look at a car, I imagine its face.

When I was a kid I really wanted to be a painter. My mom’s lipstick became my brush. My canvas? Our white rug.

For fun, I used to throw my Beany Babies as high as I could so they would hit the ceiling of the play room. That was until my sister told me they came to life after I left the room, just like in Toy Story. I spent hours apologizing to them after that, asking for their forgiveness, hoping they didn’t hate me forever.

I used to take bar soap in the shower and pretend that I was the first person to have invented it, and that it was a very magical item that many people wanted. I would wrap it up in a washcloth to “trade” with other people’s things

I was never sure if there was a telepathic person around when I was in public, so I would try to keep my thoughts good and ask them to talk to me. If I had weird thoughts, I would telepath an apology to anyone that might be listening. To this day, I still apologize if I have any thoughts that would add to the flood of negative emotions a telepathic person might be hearing.

My parents used to keep our summer clothes in large plastic boxes in the basement. When they took them out, my brother and I would to ride them down the staircase and pretend to be santa claus riding a sleigh with presents for the world.
